I have been surfing and playing in the ocean for over thirty years. After suffering some horrific injuries, my surfing life as I knew it changed forever. As part of my rehab, and out of desperation to stay connected to the ocean (as well as my surfing friends and family), I picked up a tiny Olympus camera and water housing and began my quest for rehabilitation while maintaining an aquatic lifestyle.
The first setup was 8-4mm and 8 megapixels, no motor drive or rapid fire here. There was no fisheye nor spray and pray either. I had to relay on my years of experience as a surfer to time things right. I’m sure this helped me in the long run.

Anyway, that was about nine years ago — I have been shooting ever since. Here’s a peek at my blood, sweat, and tears. I hope you enjoy.
