Hurricane Simon rolled into California with a fiery passion. In late September, a low pressure area built up off the coast of Mexico. Over the next few days, it tied up its shoes, put on its best running clothes, and went for a jog. By October, it has worked its way up to tropical cyclone status, and continued to organize itself. Soon afterwards, it morphed into Tropical Storm Simon, then continued to strengthen until it reached hurricane status. As its swell traveled, it began to light up most of the southern coastline of California, and the Wedge, along with all its hard charging lunatic locals, was ready.
