Photographer Chris Tran captured some incredible photos of a swell that hit Nantucket when Hurricane Franklin passed by. Out in the middle of the ocean off the coast of Massachusetts, Nantucket is an inconsistent surf spot that can absolutely fire in the right conditions. The last time we saw video from the region, it was Ben Gravy catching ferry waves rather than storm swells. However the spot can also produce freezing bombs and the occasional “slurpee wave.”

From the The Nantucket Current on Instagram: “Island surfers took advantage of a big swell kicked up by Hurricane Franklin over the past few days as the storm passed well south of Nantucket. These shots are from Madequecham and Nobadeer.”
