You know something strange? It’s not all that often that we see Kai Lenny surfing on a plain old surfboard on plain old waves. More often than not, we see him surfing on waves the size of buildings or on some strange craft that almost no one else is riding. But in his day-to-day life, Kai obviously does surf regular waves on regular boards at a very high level—it’s just that the other stuff is so wildly fantastic that it’s what we see more often.
Sure, there are a few parts in the video above where he’s on a strapped up board and a foil (and he can be seen explaining exactly what those little things on the tail of his board are to John John Florence), but for the most part, it’s just plain ol’ Kai on plain ol’ boards in plain ol’ waves. And it’s a good peek into an average day of a not-so-average surfer.
