A high-surf advisory combined with a decent-sized rain storm brought a good morning of surfing to Los Angeles.
It wasn’t easy to film the surf in the rain but it was too good not to try. I didn’t want to pull my camera equipment out in the rain. It was good surf, with good size, but did I want to lose $15,000 worth of camera equipment over one session? No I didn’t.
So I shot with my cell phone. I got close enough to the action that I could get away with it.
