The Inertia

The Surf City El Salvador Pro waiting period kicked off yesterday, and while it didn’t run and probably won’t be running today either with some solid swell in the forecast, we’ll be in for a show once it does. Punta Roca, located in La Libertad, El Salvador is a new stop on tour this year, a cobblestone right hand point break that can stretch for hundreds of yards with multiple sections for maneuvers and airs. With the right conditions, it can get pretty hollow, too.

The judges are going to be looking for the full criteria, because this wave allows everything in the criteria to be done,” says Rules And Judging Analyst Richie Porta in the video above. “There’s going to be variety and innovation, combinations of major maneuvers, barrels, power surfing, aerials, the whole kit and kaboodle will be on display here and the judges will analyze very critically to hand out the best scores.”

Stay tuned to WorldSurfLeague.com for the call.
