As a surfer, you know the warning signs. Lots of seals around – then there’s probably more than a few sharks lurking close as well. That’s the way nature works. It’s all part of the chain. Seals are looking for food. Where there’s food for seals, there’s food for sharks. Case in point, this drone footage of a shark taking down a seal in South Africa.
But have you actually seen the food chain in action? This drone footage was used for Discovery Channel’s “Shark Week” and it’s about as blatant as it gets. Shark patrols for seal, seal makes wrong turn, shark pounces. It’s a pretty compelling look at how that food chain actually works.
