Over the weekend, while eyes were transfixed on all things Surf Ranch, the folks at Barefoot Ski Ranch Cable Park dropped a hammer. They posted some of the first footage of their new wave pool, powered by American Wave Machines (in which Cheyne Magnusson and Jamie O’Brien are investors) and it looked absolutely dreamy.
The main question as attention shifted from the Founders’ Cup to the newest tech? How big is this wave?
Well, minutes ago Jamie O’Brien dropped another little teaser on Instagram of he and Cheyne getting after it and, well, it looks like a blast – sets of three waves at a time that each barrel. And according to American Wave Machines, the pool can be programmed to dish out a variety of waves. (Update: Jamie also explained to us that the day after leaving the waves were a bit bigger because they’d added more water to the pool.)
For our friends based in the U.S. there’s even better news. BSR Cable Park will open to the public soon and hour-long sessions are reasonably priced – $60 per session. More info here.
