William Aliotti had a rough day in late December. After seeing a foil board with a propellor on it, the Caribbean born French surfer decided it looked like it’d be fun to try.
Unfortunately, Aliotti fell off and crammed his fingers straight into the spinning blades. The images are hard to look at, but surgeons were able to sew him back together with the help of a few metal pins.

“Good news!!” he wrote. “I got to keep my fingers … it’s going to take a few weeks to heal.. the surgery went pretty well as you can see.” Despite how bad the injuries look, Aliotti plans on being back the water in just a few months. And we’d be willing to bet he won’t be getting back on a foil with an uncaged propellor on it any time soon.
