Sayulita, Mexico is a longboarder’s heaven – long slow waves that allow for oodles of tip time, warm water, cheap beer, the list goes on. With that in mind, it makes perfect sense that the Vans Duct Tape Invitational landed there after two years off. Justin Quintal and Kelis Kaleopaʻa ended up taking home the top honors, but there were plenty of highlights throughout the event, as the best loggers in the world showed off their flawless and progressive styles. Our favorite? Easily local wildcard Jonathan “Gordo” Melendres’ ridiculous double “hang heels” (wave starts at 5:10, above).
