The Inertia

Courtney Conlogue has had her sights set on a world title for years. Born and raised in Santa Ana, California, Conlogue spent her weekdays landlocked, but her weekends were spent surfing in Huntington Beach. She entered, and won, her first contest at 10 and at 14, she earned a wildcard into the Maui Pro at Honolulu Bay. In 2009, Conlogue won the US Open of Surfing, which secured her a spot on the Championship Tour.

During her first few years on the CT, Conlogue scored a few wins and nursed a couple of injuries. In 2015 and 2016, Conlogue found herself in contention for the title, but fell short, finishing both seasons as the runner-up. Conlogue has suffered more injuries than most over the course of her career, but she’s also the master of comebacks due to her determination and grit.

After a fairly quiet season, she won the Tahiti Pro, proving that she knows her way around a barrel and can hold her own in waves of consequence. We have a feeling Conlogue won’t rest until she claims that title. And we’re okay with that, because it’s incredible to watch her surf.
