The Inertia

You have heard by now, you giant surfing fan you, that Gabriel Medina won the Freshwater Pro. Depending on your feelings around surfing in a pool, you either love it or hate it or maybe you just don’t care at all. Here’s the cool thing about the pool, though: it is the levelest playing field in the sport of surfing. The waves, while not identical, are the closest thing to it. That, of course, lends itself to something we haven’t really seen in surfing before. Instead of leaving a bunch of stuff to the vagaries of Mother Nature, surfers are finally able to be judged solely on their surfing. What a novel concept! Gabriel Medina has the place locked down, and there is one wave, in particular, that shows just how tightly he’s got those screws cranked.
