Jupiter, Florida has a pretty big SUPing population. And while in most places, SUPers have to deal with a bunch of cranky surfers, in this one, it’s friendly sea cows.
Celine Chasteen was out on her paddleboard a few days ago when the manatee decided it wanted to check out what was happening up there. “We were going along the coast and I saw what I thought were rocks, but then they started moving,” Chasteen told The Dodo. “The next thing I know, there’s a manatee putting his flippers on my board.”
Apparently, the manatee is pretty well known in those parts, but it’s still not a frequent occurrence. “I’ve never experienced anything like that before,” Chasteen said. “I thought he was really cute. He was really nice and stuff. I hope he drops by again.”
