Jill Hansen, a self-proclaimed pro surfer/model stands accused of attempted murder after running over a 73-year-old woman in Honolulu.

According to reports, Hansen ran over the woman, identified as Elizabeth Conklin, in a road rage incident in Waikiki. She is formally charged with second-degree attempted murder, unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, and attempted unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.

According to the Honolulu Star Advertiser, Hansen ran Conklin over in a parking garage after following her home. When she reversed the car to try and hit her again, maintenance technician Chris Khoury smashed her back windshield in an effort to distract her.

The victim believes it was an attempted car theft. “She saw my car, it was the car she wanted, she followed me, she was going to kill me and get the car,” she told KITV4 News.

According to her ASP profile, Hansen was taught to surf by Rabbit Kekai.

Hawaii News Now reported that Hansen tried to escape prison as she was being processed.

“She tried to slip out behind someone who was walking out the door,” Public Information Officer Toni Schwartz told HNN. “Thanks to the quick actions of our staff, they immediately grabbed her and stopped her from getting any further.”

Hansen’s bail has been set at $1 million.
