Asher Pacey is one of the smoothest men in surfing. He lives a simple life, and he has since he was just a tyke. He grew up without electricity and learned to live off the land, giving him a pretty unique outlook on how life can be lived.

“The little things we all take for granted (those magical things we call light switches, for one) aren’t so little when you’ve spent years without them,” we wrote a few years ago. “And although a lot of people live in areas where ‘going out’ means hitting a bar instead of exploring nature, it’s still possible to find that magic–one just has to go a little farther. ‘The probability of finding a little bit of magic is still high if you go out and continue searching,’ says Pacey. He’s spent his life off the beaten path, and although there may be a few more weeds on it, it’s way more interesting.”

Here’s MySurf.tv’s newest take on Asher Pacey. “We hung out with Asher at home on the east coast of Oz, cruising around looking for waves and finding out what makes one of the smoothest men in surfing tick,” they wrote. And while there’s no telling exactly what makes him tick, they get pretty damn close.
