This winter, in Ireland, some huge storms rolled through. With them, they brought power outages, floods and cancelled ferries. Three storms in two weeks churned up something vicious in the Atlantic, and big wave surfers watched with bated breath. One such charger was Fergal Smith.
Mullaghmore showed signs of being able to host the storm swell and turn out its famed, left-hand, top-to-bottom barrel. What resulted was one of the spot’s biggest paddle sessions of all time. After stroking into these giants, Fergal went south to meet up with fellow Irish chargers Tom Lowe and Ollie O’Flaherty and tackle some heavy slabs.
Success? You betcha.
