February was an incredibly discouraging month on the East Coast. We weren’t given a significant swell, with the best pulse reaching around four to five feet. Most days, the conditions weren’t favorable and the windows of time with offshore winds were short. Still, I was able to sneak in a moment or two to get some shots of good waves and some opportunity to get creative with the conditions.
So after a month of mostly bad surf, I’m ready for March on the East Coast. In recent years, March has produced big waves and some memorable shots. Plus, we still have yet to see a snowstorm with barrels this winter; something a lot of the surfers and photographers like taking advantage of around here. I’m hoping we can close out the winter with some decent surf in Jersey and go into the spring and summer months ready for hurricane season.
