It’s our favorite time of year. Yup, it’s summer. South swell and sun have arrived. We’ll take both. And our second-ever annual gathering, EVOLVE: Uniting the Brightest Minds in Surf and Outdoors, returns to Los Angeles on August 17th, 2019. We’re so pumped. Last year was our first attempt at creating an event that celebrates individuals making positive contributions to surf and outdoor culture. We didn’t really know what we were getting into, but by the time Tom Carroll and Sal Masekela shared a bear hug onstage while managing to hold back a few tears of joy after the premiere of our short film, Boycott the Gunston 500, we knew we had something special on our hands.
So, man, are we psyched to do it all again. v2.0.
EVOLVE is everything that this digital space made of ones and zeros we’ve been working hard to build over the last decade cannot be. Nothing beats actual face time. Not talking iPhones. Smash those things. Come meet heroes of surf and outdoors who have built a name for themselves by using their platforms to do great things when they’re not in the ocean or on the mountains. Be part of the conversation.
That’s what EVOLVE is about.
EVOLVE features powerful short films, panels that pair thought-leaders from different spheres of outdoor culture to tackle our most pressing topics, and music (TBD!) to mobilize innovators as a force for good.
Last year’s event was the most fulfilling thing we’ve had the good fortune of organizing, and we’re excited to do it all again.

A portion of proceeds will benefit STOKED Mentoring and Life Rolls On, two amazing organizations led by amazing individuals in Jesse Billauer and Steve Larosiliere who will be on hand to discuss their respective journeys. From nonprofits to the art of radical parenting to the intersection of sustainability and hunting to the boundaries powerful women like Keala Kennelly and Michelle Parker have smashed, we can’t wait to watch the sparks fly.
