When you think of surfing in California, Los Angeles doesn’t typically come to mind. San Diego. Santa Cruz. Orange County. Those are the Golden State strongholds that more regularly support local surfers with a healthy diet of solid surf. Not the urban sprawl of L.A.
But occasionally, about as rare as minimal traffic on the 405, the waves can turn on…sort of. Above you’ll see a montage of L.A. getting about as good as it gets. And the local talent was on it, because there’s nothing better than scoring in the comfort of your own home. Local heavies like Mitch Crews, Matt Pagan, Dane Zaun, Bruna Schmitz, and Leila Hurst take advantage of it while they can. Who knows when it’ll be back?
