The Inertia

I’ve been waiting all year to shoot in Oceanside. During the winter, the north side of the pier is, for the most part, unsurfable. During the summer months, however, it gets incredibly good. Such was the case this past week when Northside offered up some of the craziest bowls I’ve ever seen at the pier.

Low tide mornings seemed to have slowed things down a bit, but as the tide came up, the bowl turned on. And in addition to the great waves, one of the best things about this swell is that the water seemed to progressively get warmer and warmer throughout the week. Back-to-back south swells, warm water, and glassy conditions… What more can you ask for?
