The Inertia

This fall’s Hurricane Marie didn’t bring the same size to the Wedge as that previous historic storm by the same name, but it did definitely still bring some big barrels. Maybe it was the name that brought more cameras out than surfers, all hoping to get the shot of the day.

Sets weren’t pushing off the jetty and the spot’s tee-pee effect wasn’t working in the fashion that makes for some of its most classic days. The swell was pulsing directly at Cylinders, though. In fact, the lineup was super packed in that section with surfers scrambling all over the peak for some super fast, crazy barrels that turned into a pretty memorable session.
