Unlike years past, this year’s Vans U.S. Open has been graced with some decent surf. Not exactly epic, but enough to up the ante in the excitement department for the 750 thousand or so spectators set to make their way to the sand this week while G-Shock kept the time for the eleventh year in a row. But perhaps the craziest thing to go down thus far was Jadson Andre’s Round 2 heat where he pulled into a rogue barrel, and threaded the pier for good measure. The combo earned him an 8.83, but it was definitely a 10 in our hearts.
