For the Southern California surfer, any excuse to head south of the border is a good one. As long as you proceed with a little extra caution, the Baja Peninsula can be a welcome pilgrimage that continues to deliver less crowded surf, good seafood, and cold beers. What more could’ya want?
During a recent run of swell courtesy of Hurricane Rosa, filmmaker Evan Schell and pals Kahana Kalama and Christian Yeager decided to explore some of Baja’s most notable pointbreaks, and boy did they deliver. As often happens when chasing waves, their crew ran into Kyle Buthman and Austin Smith-Ford, regulars around many a Santa Cruz lineup.
