Morocco surfing

Doesn’t get much better than that, does it? Photo: YouTube//Screenshot

The Inertia

Morocco might not be the very first place you think of when you plan a surf trip. It’s probably on the list somewhere, but it should be closer to the top than it is. Take, for example, the wave you see in this video, which was shot on January 27.

It’s Desert Point, but not that Desert Point. Mid to low tide, a breath of offshore wind, and an almost maxed swell. It sounds as though it was a bit tougher than it looks,

“The beachbreak was holding some open walls for the lucky surfers,” wrote Surf Raw Files. “Some clean-up sets and strong current made it difficult though.”

But for those who did get a wave or three, conditions were about as good as they get for an everyday surfer. Long walls, a relatively easy take off, and ruler straight. The wave you’ve doodled a thousand times before in your notebook, but this one was real.
