It’s pretty hard to beat the wave at Desert Point when it’s working, and on September 24, it was definitely working. The lineup that day wasn’t full of professional surfers getting yet another long tube. Instead it was full of regular surfers, some good and some average, scoring barrels and, in the case of a few of them, celebrating what was probably the best wave of their lives.
