We don’t see a lot from Dave Rastovich these days. I like to think that’s because he grew tired of our praises and decided he’d rather just grow his vegetables, feel the dirt between his toes, and wander down little trails to perfect waves when the waves ask him to come and play. But just because he’s backed off from the glaring spotlight he was in for so long doesn’t mean his surfing has dimmed. Quite the opposite, in fact.
The film above, entitled In the Family of Things, is a collaboration between Nathan Oldfield and Rasta. “Shot over consecutive mornings during the long, recent run of North Coast autumn swell,” their description reads, In the Family of Things is Dave in his element, doing his thing.”
