Dane Zaun is one of the most entertaining surfers in the South Bay. As a videographer, it’s always fun to shoot when he’s in the water because he mixes a recognizable style with a crazy air attack and a genuine, solid barrel game. He’s also pretty much always in neon, so he’s A) never hard to find and B) well, the neon just adds to the style part.
As a grom, Dane was on the radar in SURFER’s Hot 100. He was square in the middle of the pack and, as a matter of fact, was slotted a few spots ahead of Nate Florence when the two were both up-and-coming professionals. It’s all a testament to how much raw talent Dane’s been working with all these years, and he still regularly puts on a show in Los Angeles lineups.
