Dane Reynolds, Craig Anderson, and Jeremy Flores to Judge King of the Groms Contest

From the billion-or-so entries Quik’s going to get, only 30 will move to the next round. The second round is the video round, which is where things get turned up a notch. Quik provides music and graphics for two-minute clips that (hopefully) will be two-minutes of the next big thing blowing up. The public votes on the King of the Groms website, but it’s limited to one vote per person.

Then comes the final. After the 30 groms in round two get whittled into 10, it’s held at a secret location, where there will be a live broadcasted party. Attire isn’t shirts and ties; wear your creative hat, and have as much fun as you can. There’s a series of challenges, with a prize of $1000 for each one. Second place takes home a cool 10 gs, and the winner–the best under-18 surfer in the world–will take home a check for $20,000… way too much money for a grom.

The King of the Groms contest isn’t just something that’ll get you a quick pay day, either. Past KOFG (or Quik Pro Junior) winners include Joel Parkinson, John John Florence, and Gabriel Medina.
