Here on Maui, we have been praying for any swell we could get. Summer has been pretty tough on us until last week when Hurricane Fabio drifted away from California’s coast and delivered a large wind swell. The conditions were a bit funky but the boys still capitalized on it.
Local surfer Imaikalani Devault had just returned home from a ninth-place finish at the Ballito Pro. Last year’s Huntington Beach Junior Pro’s Champion Cody Young was on hand, too as well as Logan Bediamol, who recently won his HSA State Championship Division.
Even though conditions were far from perfect, with all that talent, these little waves didn’t stand a chance.
