Kelis Kaleopaa and Kaniela Stewart have a lot in common. They’re both from Oahu, Hawaii. They’re both extremely talented longboarders. They’re cousins. And they’re the 2023 Huntington Beach Longboard Classic champs.

For the women, it came down to Kelis Kaleopaa and two-time world champ Honolua Blomfield (also from Oahu). It was a tight heat, with Kaleopaa finishing with a heat total of 14.13 and Blomfield with a 13.73.

For the men, it was Kaniela Stewart versus Taylor Jensen. Stewart dominated the heat and the pair shared a party wave into the beach where Stewart was greeted by Kaleopaa. The cousins from Hawaii are officially kicking off the WSL Longboard Tour in the lead.
