Mid-lengths get a lot of hate from people who, for one reason or another, are concerned with what someone else is riding. But for those who enjoy might enjoy a little more foam under their feet, mid-lengths can offer a whole host of benefits. They lend themselves to a little more cruisy style of wave riding, paddle far better than the average shortboard, and when they’re ridden by someone like Corey Colapinto, they look pretty damn good.
Above, Colapinto can be seen riding a 6’8 and 8’6 twin fin mid-length by Kookapinto Shapes in Baja California. Little waves? No problem.
