The end of Conner Coffin’s 2019 Championship Tour season may not have gone as he’d hoped, but the Santa Barbara native is taking it in stride. Contest results are one thing, but after a six-week residency on the North Shore, sometimes it’s those waves you get out of a singlet that occupy the memory banks over the sharp pain of a heat that didn’t go your way.
This year, Pipe and Backdoor were famously pumping in the lead up to the Billabong Pipe Masters serving up some all-time free surf sessions before conditions diminished during the event window. In the case of Conner, that meant ample practice time and some absolute screamers between heats.
