Good for them. Really, good for them. But also: f*ck ’em. I swear, Wildfire is the sort of surf film that is produced to both inspire and tear down — it’s the type of edit that gets you psyched on the surf, but makes you want to pull your hair out as you watch them palling around, catching waves up and down that absolutely beautiful Indonesian coastline. I’m a curmudgeon, you say? Given the fact that I’m writing this as my back spasms out from sitting down too much — damn right I am.
That being said, I suppose the enjoyment the clip brings outweighs the envy, so obviously put aside whatever you’re doing and froth over this 19-minute daydream. The soundtrack by Pleasure keeps perfect pace with the crew as Parker and Conner Coffin, Yadin Nicol, and Jay Davies put their heads down and charge through each section.
