The latest post from Clay Marzo is a recap of a recent adventure in Hossegor. The freesurfing auteur brought his wildly expressive surfing to France for the 2024 Quicksilver Festival in September, and now he’s gracing us with a cut of the proceedings.
If the name “Quicksilver Festival” doesn’t ring a bell for you, that’s probably because it’s relatively new. This was the second iteration of the event, which rose from the ashes of the long-running Quicksilver Pro France. Spearheaded by French phenom Jeremy Flores, the event features a lineup of 24 surfers hand-picked by the man himself, who then split off into teams of two, with each team competing in six sessions with varying formats.
It’s no surprise that Clay Marzo was one of the athletes to score an invite. As shown in the video, he surfed with his characteristic creativity and effortless style. Of course, the also took some time out to explore the scenery and get a good meal or two in.
“I didn’t score much waves this trip but here is some fun content, and I love the food!” wrote Marzo in the caption. The man’s got his priorities straight.
