The Sickos are known for pulling off surfing and surfing-adjacent stunts, but their latest video appears to be the toughest challenge yet. “Do you think you can teach a bunch of dudes from Oregon, that haven’t surfed, too, much to get a proper barrel?” they ask Tanner Waite, also known as Beach Cowboy on social media.
Waite’s charged with coaching the Sickos crew into a few barrels in surfing’s favorite not-so-secret destination, the Mentawais. “Everyone’s really excited, but also (kind of not saying it), but really scared,” sums up the commentary at the top of the video. That fear is not wholly unfounded, as they hitch a ride out to the lineup to find barreling sets breaking over a shallow reef.
