Bruce Irons is an icon. He hasn’t had the easiest life, though, and in this installment of Nathan Fletcher’s vlog, Live and Direct, the old friends caught up about a whole lot.
Both Nathan and Bruce are the younger brothers of surf legends. Andy Irons and Christian Fletcher cast very long shadows, but Nathan and Bruce have both managed to escape those shadows to cast their own. They also talked about how the paths they chose in life — paths of surf stardom — had both positive and negative effects.
“Bruce is brutally honest as he shares how competitive surfing affected his life,” Fletcher wrote. ” Basically, this is a raw and natural, unfiltered conversation between old friends that you won’t hear anywhere else but on Nathan Fletcher: Live and Direct.”
Bruce, who is relatively fresh off a stint at a psychedelic-assisted treatment facility in Mexico, appears to be a relatively good place, which is nice to see. Here’s hoping we’ll see more of him, should he choose to go that route, in the future.
