According to reports, a 25-year-old man is in critical condition after being attacked by a shark on surfing’s most famous stretch, Oahu’s North Shore.
Colin Cook, who has been living on the North Shore for three years, is originally from Rhode Island. While surfing Leftovers, a spot near Waimea Bay, he was bitten on the leg at just after 10 am on Friday morning. According to Hawaii News Now, Cook worked for famed Hawaii shaper John Carper, who rushed to the beach when he heard about the attack.
“I kept him, basically held his head, kept having him to look at my face. He kept wanting to pass out,” Carper told Hawaii News Now. “He’d lost his leg completely.”
Best wishes to Colin, and we’re all hoping for a quick recovery.
