Skimboarding is still an obscure art to many. But in all reality, it could easily be argued it’s much more difficult than just paddling into a wave, and rarely mastered past the teenage years, when the bodies of young skim aficionads are still built closer to the ground and limbs are more flexible, making the horrendous wipeouts much less painful. When it’s done right, it’s a sight to behold. And skimboarders Austin Keen, Blair Conklin and friends create quite the sight when they descend upon Aliso Beach in south Laguna, an iconic skimboarding locale.
