Rotterdam may not be the first place you think of when it comes to watersports, but that’s exactly where Blair Conklin and company found themselves in his latest video. As we all know by now, when it comes to Blair, where there’s a will (and a minimum amount of water) there’s a way.
Blair was also joined by fellow skimboarder Adrien Raza. Though they both share the world champion title, Raza’s is for flatland skimboarding, versus Conklin’s beach-based acrobatics. However, while their styles are about as different as two people in the same sport can get, they share a very similar career path. Much like Conklin’s rise to social media fame, Raza has been amassing an online following with his impressive style in picturesque scenery.
Their venue eventually ended up being one of Rotterdam’s iconic canals. The 100-foot wide, mossy-green expanse also happened to be the site of one of Raza’s early viral video hits, so the venue was also a bit of a homecoming for the flatland champ.
“It’s an honor to have you here,” said Raza to Conklin. “This is an important place in my skim career, so to have Blair, Gary, Skyler – it’s a special moment for me.”
