This is a serious one-upper of a corporate retreat. Recently, Billabong’s wetsuit division decided to do some product testing… or maybe it was a board meeting? Or was it a corporate take over? Whatever it was, they went to Kelly Slater Wave Co.’s Surf Ranch in Lemoore and had a ball with Shane Dorian.
Given Kelly’s longtime relationship with Quiksilver, and Quiksilver’s purchase of Billabong (which is really just a crazy incestual mess with Oaktree Capital – a holding company), it would appear Kelly and the industry dudes at Billabong have an amicable-enough relationship. Or maybe Billabong’s got the money to blow to rent the place out. Whatever the case, Shane Dorian and the rest of the Billabong team are all smiles in Lemoore.
