The Big Wave World Tour is offering a full wildcard slot to the winner of their #ProveIt Video Challenge. It’s a standard video submission contest, open to anybody around the world who is serious about committing to 2015/16 season, which includes events at Mavericks, Pe’Ahi, Punta de Lobos and three other world class big wave spots. The basic criteria only states that “applications should include the five biggest/heaviest waves and must include performances from a total of three different locations.”
Not that the big Wave World Tour offers riches, fame and a life of luxury, but it is an established platform to base your year of chasing monsters around. And for people like Nic Vaughan and other crazies, who are committed to making big wave surfing a career, it’s a rare break-through opportunity.
