Ever since a New Jersey dredging project brought a rifling wave to his home break, Ben Gravy has been claiming it as his own. He’s referring to it as his personal “brand new 20 million dollar wave pool” and, based on a recent session he uploaded to his YouTube channel, it was worth every penny.
Unlike the first time he reported on the development, it seems like he no longer has the pool to himself, though. “Jersey showed up. Everybody was out. Everybody,” explained Gravy after returning from the surf. “Which is actually kind of cool. We haven’t had a classic swell like this in a while.”
“Really solid session,” he continued. “Couple tubes, maybe. Couple pocket rides for sure. Thank you, New Jersey, [for the] $20 million wave pool. Thing’s kind of nuts. It’s a little dangerous, though, if I’m being honest. You can work on it a little, make it easier to make the drop.”
