Ben Gravy, the undisputed king of novelty waves, pretty much nailed the random surf search again. His timing is truly impeccable. Or maybe it’s just that he’s just always on the hunt, which eventually will lead you to a trophy of some kind. But this time it wasn’t quite as easy (is it ever?). He found some really decent Great Lakes surf, but in extremely cold weather. Ben rode Lake Erie in three different states, and the waves didn’t look bad at all (other than being frigid). Like a good storm session at your local. Pennsylvania seemed to provide the best opportunities for rippable walls. And as usual, Ben gives props to the locals who help him along the way. This man loves the novelty wave life.
