Ben Gravy, always one for the novelty wave, recently surfed the novelty of all novelties. Calving glacier waves in Alaska. Now, we’ve all probably seen this one before. Garrett McNamara and Keali’i Mamala brought interest to Childs Glacier as it calved into the Copper River near Cordova in 2007, towing into some sizable swell formed by the falling ice chunks. Dylan Graves recently made a trip to AK for some glacier surfing, too.
Ben might have caught the most epic conditions for his trip. Glassy glacier waves on a sunny day? For the dream, to borrow the New Jersey native’s catch phrase. Mr. Gravy has been traveling with one of our favorite skimboarders, Blair Conklin. Looks as though they’re having a hoot.
