There’s clutch surfing, and then there’s getting-a-9.70-in-the-final-minutes-of-your-heat-at-Teahupo’o-to-advance-to-the-WSL-Finals surfing. Clutch hardly begins to describe it. While the Griffin Colapinto fans out there might be disappointed not to see San Clemente’s own take on the best of the best at his home break of Lower Trestles, there’s no doubt that Kanoa Igarashi earned that spot at the WSL Finals.
