On May 5, 2022, an 18-second southwest swell rolled into Bank Vaults. The winds that came with it blew NNW, which, as Bank Vaults aficionados know, is just about what Bank Vaults needs to produce the waves that make the world sit up and take notice.
Although that long period lent itself to some long lulls, when the waves came, they really came. “Was not easy to get a good one this day and the waiting for sets was probably around 15-20 minutes – nothing in between,” wrote Surf Raw Files on YouTube. “Anyhow, if you got one good one this day, it was worth the 3-4 hours session!”
