Wedge season is in full swing, which means it’s not uncommon to pull up to Southern California’s resident mutant wave and see a cast of traveling pros anxious to tame her. Case in point: a recent day during in which Balaram Stack and Mason Ho just happened to turn up. Skimboard extraordinaire Brad Domke also showed up unexpectedly lugging a board with fins on it and together the trio nabbed some of the best waves of the day.
“Very few surfers can actually have fun down there, but Balaram, Brad, & Mason were the life of the party,” says Jack Coleman. “Mason, who was surfing with a fractured wrist, got the ‘grit’ award. Balaram took over the spot and got the wave of the day after being out for 30 minutes.”
