If you’re a lucky person, you have, at least once in your life, climbed into a car packed full of surfboards and friends, laughed about some silly nothingness, then pointed yourselves towards somewhere you hope will have waves.
You’d likely been studying some kind of forecast for a while by then, and maybe you had a particular destination in mind, but maybe it was just an area. An area that worked well for that particular direction of swell you’d studied. Such was the case for Vissla riders Cam Richards, Eric Geiselman, and Simon Hetrick when they began a little field trip together.
The south swells were running, that water was warming, and summer was in the air when they headed to the East Coast on a hurricane strike mission. And, after driving miles and miles of coastline finding miles and miles of wedging beach breaks, what it eventually came down to was what it always eventually comes down to: timing. And from the looks of it, they timed things just right.
