Have you heard about how good Mundaka got just in the early days of 2018? In most other months, Mundaka firing like this would’ve been front and center. Since, however, places like Nazaré were doing things that no one had ever seen before, most of the surf world totally missed it. But you know who didn’t miss it? The people who were actually there, like Aritz Aranburu and a handful of his friends.
“On January 1st Mundaka saw some of the best waves in a long time,” Aranburu wrote. “After a big night of celebrations the ocean turned on for one last song before the end of a new start.” Oh, and what a wonderful song it was!
