Alex Knost doesn’t surf like anyone other than Alex Knost. It’s a hard thing in this day and age to find your own style. Some of the best surfers on earth surf like someone else—imitation, as they say, is the sincerest form of flattery. And the line between imitation and straight up copying someone is a thin one. While Knost’s surfing has very obvious influences, he’s found a perfect mix of all of them that is just so… Knost. Now, in lineups all over the world, you’ll see people who try and surf like him. As we said, though, no one surfs quite like Alex Knost.
For this little ditty from the inimitable Jack Coleman, Knost and Justin Adams are riding surfboards that ain’t exactly the norm—but what’s normal, anyway? Riding a 7’2 Campbell Brothers Bonzer, a 7’1 BMT Edge Bonzer, and a 4’11 Justin Adams Dancing Baby Twin, Knost and Adams prove that surfing can be anything you want it to be.
